PARTION Dust and Fume Filtration Architecture

Engineering Reference · Industrial & Process

Platform: PARTION™

Technology: FUMEVRA™

Engineering Relationships

  • PARTION™ organizes filtration for particulate generated by industrial processes, including fine dust, fume and mixed production loading.
  • PARTION™ is distinct from general ventilation filtration because process-generated particulate can impose different loading, cleaning, temperature, moisture and safety constraints.
  • FUMEVRA™ is the PARTION™ family for fine-dust and fume filtration and maps to TC-DUST-01.
  • Treatment-path selection depends on the generating process, particle behavior, concentration, airflow, operating conditions, allowable pressure drop, installed collector interface and required downstream condition.
  • Combustible-dust or reactive-process hazards, where applicable, require separate validation against the governing process-safety requirements and are not established by the filter family name alone.

Components

  • Fine-dust or fume filter elements
  • Surface or depth filtration media
  • Filter sealing and element-to-housing interfaces
  • Cleaning interface where the validated element is designed for regeneration
  • Installed dust-collection or extraction equipment supplied by the system owner or equipment manufacturer

Problems

  • Rapid differential-pressure increase
  • Visible particulate downstream
  • Poor cleaning recovery
  • Premature element loading
  • Media blinding, caking or damage
  • Bypass or poor element seating

Diagnostic Methods

  • Identify the process generating the particulate and characterize the particle behavior before evaluating media suitability.
  • Review airflow, loading pattern, temperature, moisture or aerosol exposure and duty cycle.
  • Trend differential pressure and cleaning recovery together rather than relying on one pressure reading.
  • Inspect element seating, sealing surfaces and evidence of bypass.
  • Distinguish media loading or blinding from collector, cleaning-system or process changes.

Operating Conditions

  • Process-generated dust or fume
  • Particle size, morphology, concentration and loading variability
  • Airflow rate and production duty cycle
  • Temperature and moisture exposure
  • Abrasive, sticky, hygroscopic or oil-bearing particulate behavior
  • Allowable pressure-drop range
  • Cleaning or replacement strategy
  • Required downstream, recirculation or discharge condition
